Koren was glad the rain had let up some, as it looked as though Anaya wanted it to stop entirely. It made the rest of the walk much calmer and he could see much better down any roads they may have passed. Once they arrived at their destination, the rain began to pour again and he had to catch himself from becoming too enveloped in it once more. While they stood there, he glanced down at her, seeing her slightly struggle with herself, probably in regards to him. But before he could bring up any thoughts, he was greeted with her motion of joining her in her home. He thought hard for a moment as to whether or not he should, but nodded and agreed without much more effort, not wanting to turn down an invitation after the struggle of asking.
He began to slowly follow after her, closing the door behind them as they progressed down the hall. Plain, but efficient in effect was what he felt from the hallway itself and when they made it to the elevator, he had a moments issue with how old the doors looked. But he waved it off as he could make out that it was more a rustic effect added to what was otherwise a relatively modern system. As she unlocked and opened the doors, he continued to look over every detail of the elevator, seeing everything it had to offer by visual inspection. It was in much more working condition than the original view lead to believe, but he once again tossed it up to rustic decor.
Koren felt the elevator jerk once it had met its landing and once again, simply followed Anaya as she opened doors. When she set her hand on a small square and opened the last door, He was taken aback slightly by how modern and open her home was. He had a small idea of what she lived in as they had entered an apartment building, but he didn't think she would have a loft the size of two floors combined. He just stood by the front door, taking in everything he could about where he was. Whether it was a bad habit or not, he never did like being in a place he couldn't examine. He kept examining it some more before he heard her speak. To which is expression softened some as he looked at her and nodded.
When she rushed off towards what he assumed would be the bathroom, he just stayed right where he was, not wanting to get anymore water where he didn't need to. He once again began to examine the loft, seeing all the amenities it had to offer. The books, lights, and even the piano were all taken in by him as he looked. He could tell that while minimal in some aspects, she had put time and effort into what she had and appreciated the love he could feel from where everything was placed. They all had their own spot and meaning to where they were. It was very homey and he was slowly becoming warm with the atmosphere of the room.

As she rushed to the bathroom for the towel, Anaya completely forgot about her own puddles of water she left behind. Across gleaming but worn wood floors she stepped lightly, her footsteps hardly able to be heard. In the bathroom she waved at her fish in the aquarium before snagging an oversized, fluffy towel. She couldn't help burying her face in the softness, inhaling the soft scent of the thieves oil she used in her wash. The smell of clove, cinnamon and rosemary filled her senses with a calming influence and got her heart to slow slightly. Turning on her heel she hurried back out into the main area of the loft. In her rush, she didn't notice the puddle in her path. A miscalculation of balance had her slipping on the puddle, twisting as her feet came out from under her and hitting the floor hard on her shoulder. It was really turning out to be not her night.

After examining the loft for what he could see, Koren looked down at his own cloths, seeing how still drenched they were. He hesitated only a moment, thinking it would get more water around on the floor, before he hooked a hand under the hem of his shirt. He pulled it up and off with one fluid motion and set it as close as he could to where he was standing. His shoes began to show an issue, because if he were to step out of them, he would be dragging more water around. So in an attempt to keep the water from spreading any further, he undid the strap on his belt and slid his pants down to his ankles.
From there, he stepped lightly on the back of one shoe, pulling his foot and leg free from one side. Once again trying to keep as little water from leaving that single spot, he hooked his free foot behind his other shoe and wiggled a little to free the last part of his body. Now, he was significantly dryer than before, though still wet, and wasnt tracking water anywhere. It wasnt until he was standing behind the pool of his own cloths and water that he had a tinge of regret for almost stripping completely in someone elses house. But that was quickly rectified with She offered for me to get dry. This helps.
After the moment of inner thought, he looked up just in time to see her legs betray her and her feet swinging from under her to have her whole body fling itself to one side. The audible thud that came after when she hit the ground made even him cringe a bit. Something like that would not feel nice even for him and he knew she was probably worse off because of her weak state and small stature. He was immediately moving toward her, not thinking anymore about whether or not he was dry but rather if she was ok from such a hit. Soon enough, he was at her side kneeling down, pushing his hair back behind his head to get a better view of if anything had happened to her shoulder. "You ok? That couldnt have felt very nice."

The hit hurt and Anaya kept her eyes closed for a moment after impact to assess any damage. She had smacked her head a bit on the hard wood floors, and her shoulder was definitely going to be sore, but there didn't seem to have any major damage. She groaned slightly as she heard and felt footsteps rushing towards her.
"You ok? That couldnt have felt very nice."
Leaning up on one elbow she slowly sat up with another groan. 'Hip is bruised too' she thought, slowly opening her eyes. 'Way to be graceful yet again Anaya' she thought sarcastically. First thing she saw was Koren's concerned face and dripping wet hair close to her. Her eyes drifted down slightly and widened to the size of saucers. There was a brief moment as she took in the few scattered scars and lean muscle. She quickly realized that his shirt wasn't the only thing he had removed as her eyes glanced quickly downward.
Highly startled she let out a squeak and sat all the way up, covering her face with her hands and tilting it down. "WHY ARE YOU NAKED?!" she exclaimed, slightly mortified.

He watched as she groaned and slowly got up. Nothing seemed too damaged to the point she couldnt move or function, so that gave him a small sense of relief. He certainly wouldnt want to be in someone elses loft and having to treat them with no idea of where anything was. When she got up some more, he saw her eyes glance around his whole body and then was momentarily startled by her quick shriek. He glanced down at his legs, and chuckled slightly as he forgot that his undergarments were awkwardly colored almost completely to his skin tone, so it looked almost as if he WAS naked. He shook his head and looked back at her.
"No no no! Not naked! My undergarments are the same color as my tone, so it seemed that way, but i assure you it isnt. Even i have more sense than that to not completely nude myself in someone elses house!" As he spoke, he understood more so that even with that being said, its still very rare for someone to be comfortable enough to strip as far as he did in a strangers house. "But even with that, i do apologize. I shouldnt have just taken my wet cloths off without first asking if there was somewhere to do so without troubling you. Im unfortunately still very new to dealing with anyone outside my own pack."

"No no no! Not naked! My undergarments are the same color as my tone, so it seemed that way, but i assure you it isnt. Even i have more sense than that to not completely nude myself in someone elses house!"
Anaya picked up her head at his words, seeing that indeed he wasn't naked but not exactly far off either. Her heart continued to race as she looked up at him with her eyebrows raised and eyes huge. Crouched down, he loomed over her small frame and dripped water from his hair onto her floor. She really was going to have to drag a towel over the floor so she didn't almost kill herself again.
"But even with that, i do apologize. I shouldnt have just taken my wet cloths off without first asking if there was somewhere to do so without troubling you. Im unfortunately still very new to dealing with anyone outside my own pack."
She looked up at him and couldn't help laughing a little at the crazy situation. First she invited someone she had known less than an hour up to her place, almost killed herself slipping on her own floor, and now said unknown guy was next to her mostly naked and apologizing for it. What a weird ass way the fates liked to play in her life. Rubbing her hand over her face again she chuckled a little more and handed him the towel. "You're fine, you just really...really...REALLY caught me by surprise. I don't exactly have company often, much less mostly naked company" she explained. "I can toss those clothes into the dryer if there's nothing in them that you'd be concerned about if you'd like? I might be able to find some sort of....blanket? you can wrap around your waist while they dry and I can..make a snack?" she suggested, very unused to playing host. Without waiting for an answer she got up gingerly, strolling over to the fireplace and lighting it quickly before returning to where Koren was and tilting her head a little while she waited for his answer.

When she began to chuckle a little, he perked up a bit with a smile. He didnt want to make her feel any more uncomfortable than he already had. Accepting the towel, he was quick to begin drying off his hair, as it was the wettest thing on his body at the moment. He listened to what she had to say and was soon standing alongside her as he moved back to his cloths. After he had dried most of himself off, he smiled some more at the fragrance that not covered him. It was a nice smell. He grabbed all his things and set the towel on the floor where they had been, soaking up the water that was left before setting his things back on the towel.
He rummaged thru his pants, pulling out his wallet, keys, and then an assortment of necklaces that he slid over his head to put around his neck. They resembled many ancient totem and celtic runes, assorted in many different ways around four key pendants along the multi laced strings. The most prominent of them being a golden black wolf head adorned with a gem resembling a scar along the bridge of its nose. He wasnt much for wearing it outside of his pack, but he felt that it needed to be worn while he had nowhere to hide it. He only hoped she wasnt familiar with it. Even more so that she wasnt aware of the other three.
After picking up his things in the towel and moving back to where he had previously been, he saw she had returned to the same spot as well. He gave a small smile and nodded with the ideas she offered. "A dryer would be lovely. A blanket would be good as well as i dont want to shock you anymore than i have already, and i would only want a snack if you were so inclined to offer. But i wouldnt need one if it would bother or make things awkward." He spoke almost matter of factly. "Though... i imagine things are already past that point." He gave a light chuckle at everything thats transpired thus far.

"Though... i imagine things are already past that point."
Anaya chuckled again, gathering the pile of clothes he left by the door once he pulled out his assortment of talismans. A few of them caught her attention and a tickled a memory in the back of her memory. She let the memory slide away easily instead of trying to pull it to the forefront, it probably wasn't that important anyways. Arms full, she stepped carefully around any remaining water and back into the door to the bathroom where her small area for laundry resided. The fish tank glowed softly to her and colorful fish lazily swam back and forth. She smiled at them again and carefully placed the clothes in the dryer, setting it to an appropriate setting before snagging a lightweight blanket off the shelving above.
Striding back into the main room she handed him the blanket and smiled softly. "Sorry I don't have any shorts or anything that might fit you, I don't exactly have..well..anyone over" she commented offhandedly as she turned to the kitchen. The black brick of the walls were offset by white cabinets in her kitchen, little splashes of color here and there from minor decorations. It was spacious, with a bartop with barstools looking out over more windows in place of an actual table. The overhead light clicked on as she passed under it, giving the wood floors a luminous golden glow. Opening the fridge that was significantly taller than her, Anaya rummaged in it for a few moments before procuring what she had been looking for. Moving efficiently, almost seeming to forget he was there, she snagged a cutting board and knife. She spun the knife absently in her fingers for a moment before making quick work of a block of cheese and a cold, seared meat. Snagging a platter she filled and brought it over to the bartop area, looking over her shoulder at him with a smile. On the platter was buttery crackers, some sliced cheese and a generous pile of sliced meat cooked to a beautiful medium rare.
"I didn't think you'd mind venison?" she said, her statement ending in a questioning inflection in case she was wrong.

Koren watched as she skipped off with his cloths and was once again left to his own devices for a moment. His hand instinctively clasped a part of his necklace, simply holding onto it and rubbing it thru his fingers and thumb for a second while his mind drifted a bit. But only a moment later he had let go of the necklace as he heard her begin to bound back toward him. He gave a smile and nod as he completely understood the lack of any need for cloths of his size. Folding the blanket some, he wrapped it around his waist and tucked it in a way that it hung down just to his knees.
He then slowly followed after her this time as he saw her head toward a different part of the loft. Seeing it to be the kitchen, he glanced around as she made her way to the fridge that seemed entirely too big. He kept looking around some before having taken in enough and turning towards her, where he watched her quickly and skillfully cut cheese and meat that she had pulled out. He just stood there and watched with amusement, glad that she seemed to have lightened up some more since his arrival. When everything was cut and cleanly placed, he saw her looked over at him and gave a light shake of his head.
"I dont mind at all. I actually like most, if not all, meats that are readily available." He stated as he moved slowly towards where she had set the plate down. The cuts of meat looked tantalizing and adding that bit of cheese to compliment them made his stomach growl ever so lightly.

She smiled a little and went to sit at one of the stools, quickly realizing that despite the jacket her clothes had still gotten fairly soaked in the downpour. With a small grimace she got back up. "Go ahead and eat as much as you want, I need to change really quick" she told him.
She walked briskly to the ladder and scaled it with ease, despite the bruise she could feel blossoming on her hip. Her upper loft was split into both a workspace and her bedroom. Crossing to the wardrobe she snagged a black pair of sweatpants and comfy crop top that looked otherwise like a hoodie. In a flash she changed, though she could still feel how low her energy reserves were. Around Koren she was stable, even if she wasn't strong or gaining energy. Quickly sliding down the ladder she landed with a soft thud and padded back over to the bartop. Finally settling into a chair she looked over at him again and snagged a bite of each of the offerings. Leaning onto the bartop, she tilted her head into her hand and her gaze landed on his talismans again. The nagging feeling hit her again and she mentally acknowledged it but didn't pursue the memory again. "So...I hope this doesn't sound rude, but what are you doing in the city? Most wolves I've known or heard of stay to the mountains and open areas" she commented, her gaze quizzical.

When he took a seat and looked over at her, he could see that she finally realized she was still soaked and hadnt changed. He felt a tinge of responsibility for it as she was busy trying to be humble towards him, and welcoming that she completely forgot about herself. But that was soon tossed away when he saw that she simply felt a little more than irate at forgetting. He nodded when she said to enjoy the snack prepared and padded off towards another part of the loft. He watched her until she was out of sight, and before he could even process his own thoughts, his hands had worked a slice of meat and cheese into a roll and presented it to his surprise.
He began to munch on the food before him, one hand fumbling with the food while the other grabbed once again onto the talisman around his neck. He absentmindedly continued to rub the same one while he continued to munch, his eyes glued to the window that sat in front of him. He could see a good portion of the city from where they were and he watched humans and creatures alike mingle and talk in numerous different windows and streets. It was an astonishing thing to be so high up, but still be grounded as they were. His interest and curiosity were always on a high when he was in such positions because he truly felt that the higher up he was, the more powerless he is. So it wasnt often he would find himself in such spots.
His eyes and mind were lost to the scenery and everything that was going on, so he didnt notice she had returned to where he was and had taken up a seat. His fingers never left the talisman he was rubbing and his mind was cluttered with thoughts of many different things at once that all washed away when he heard her speak. His hand let go of the talisman slowly, letting it gently rest back where it was without effort and he gave a warm smile as he ate the last bit of meat and cheese he had in his other hand.
"For the most part, you are correct. So it isnt rude in the least. Rather, it makes things a bit easier to talk about since you are knowledgeable enough to know what i am. But, before i answer that, i feel that i should at least say this." He glanced at the glass again for a moment before looking back at her. "Since this is your home, i feel that you should be more comfortable. Or, is it because of your nature as a succubi that you never let your guise fall unless alone or with your own? If we are going to guide ourselves thru stories, i would much rather you not exhaust your energy." He ended his comment with another smile, genuine to the core. He truly didnt want her to be in discomfort while they spoke.

"Or, is it because of your nature as a succubi that you never let your guise fall unless alone or with your own?"
His words sent a ripple of shock through her, instantly dropping her glamour in her surprise. Nobody had known what she was decades, how had he known?
As her glamour fell, soft fair toned skin gave way to an ash gray that still looked softer to the touch than anything from this realm. Her small, slight frame filled out to a voluptuously hour glass form though she still stayed around 5'2" in height. The cropped sweatshirt, which had previously hung baggy on her now stretched tightly across her newly revealed heavy chest. Her stomach stayed flat, decent muscle tone showing through the soft gray skin. Blonde hair gave way to a soft lilac color that faded to black at the ends and black horns curved back from above her ears in a soft crescent shape, reaching back just behind her head to curve down to the base of her skull. The teal eyes gave way to an all white iris, with a black slitted pupil and small fangs sparkled in her startled gasp. Dragonic wings unfolded and stretched before curving down her back again.
Immediately the constant strain on her from maintaining her form evaporated and a relieved sigh fell from her pouty lips. Immediately she looked up at him quizzically. "How did you know what I am? I've been in hiding for decades" she asked, confused and concerned.

Koren watched as she dropped her guise in a moment of surprise and saw her for the true self that she was. He was taken aback a bit by how stunning she became compared to her previous form, but was happy she was able to relax after holding such a form for so long with what little energy he could feel from her. He turned his head a bit and chewed down another serving of meat and cheese before hearing her speak and ask. He was a little reluctant to give her everything from just that question, but he looked at her and spoke lightly.
"Im quite a bit older than i imagine you think i am. Lets just say, ive lived long enough to see the creation and extinction of many creatures of the night. So im somewhat of a scholar on most species." He tapped one of the talismans on his necklace, hoping she didnt understand the deeper meaning to it, but rather only knew the lighter side of it, which literally meant he was a healer of all. The talisman was a book with foreign languages of many creatures adorned microscopically along its binding and faces. The gem in the middle was what he hoped she didnt recognize.
Koren caught himself glancing thru his peripherals at her frame and body again, finding that she was much more appealing now than before. He had long since forgotten the touch and feel of a creature besides his own kind, and even among his own kind, he was a special case. After his light explanation, he gave another smile, made to alleviate any other worries or concerns she may have had about him. "But, if your still concerned, i can provide any information you may want to convince you of my trust."

"Im quite a bit older than i imagine you think i am. Lets just say, ive lived long enough to see the creation and extinction of many creatures of the night. So im somewhat of a scholar on most species."
Anaya tilted her head and looked up at him, her gaze intense and highly focused. For a moment the predator beneath the pretty package shone through. With his admission of his age and knowledge, it made him even more of a threat than she had previously assessed. Her muscles tensed and she stood absolutely still as she fought her instincts to run, even as her base instincts told her to fight; she knew she didn't have the strength to win if he suddenly wasn't so friendly. A blink, a moment of time and she suppressed them, analyzing his friendly smile and relaxed posture. Her eyes moved over the talisman he tapped and that had her muscles relaxing more as she recognized it as a healer's symbol. The stone at the center made her pause as she recognized it from one of the tomes on the massive bookshelves in the living area. She couldn't remember exactly what it was, it hadn't pertained to the answer she sought so she had passed it by. Her eyes flicked to the bookcases for a moment in her thought before looking back up to him. Moving smoothly she sat in the chair and snagged some food herself. Her fangs flashed in the light again as she popped some meat into her mouth and chewed thoughtfully.
"But, if your still concerned, i can provide any information you may want to convince you of my trust."
Questions ran through her mind at the speed of light. He could be as old as her, or very close. A scholar could know more than she had been able to find on her own....she was tempted to ask about some of those pendants but she could sense a very real hesitation from him regarding her looking at them. There was no harm in leaving that one for the moment. There was one big question, one she had searched for so long. Just bringing it actively to her mind brought a great heaviness to her heart. She looked out over the city as a fork of lightning suddenly lit up the sky and a loud peal of thunder cracked loud enough to make her flinch. "Have you heard of a succubus that couldn't handle being touched actually surviving?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. It was too much to ask of someone she just met, but her life literally hung on her finding the answers she had been searching for for so long. It was the reason she created this hideaway, where she had tomes that most could only dream of, or thought were lost to the ages. Why she stayed hidden away from the world she had once wreaked havoc across and sauntered through chaos and broken lives.

He could see and feel her tension rise and knew it was because of the knowledge he had imparted about his age. That coupled with the fact he knew about who she really was without much effort was understandable. Koren had known many things about many species in his life time, and being a scholar of sorts in that respect made it knowledge that was completely essential to what he used to do. So he was curious what she would ask, if she would ask anything at all.
When she finally did ask after a loud clap of thunder rung out, he stared out the window for a moment. He had to contemplate the question because of the complexity it entailed. But after a moments silence, he decided full definitions would be better. "Well... In order to answer that question, and more to have you believe what i say, let me start from the beginning of my recollection of succubi." He toke one more serving of food and chowed quickly on it before adjusting his posture and facing her more so now.
"When your kind were originally created by Beelzebub, your species' sole purpose was to serve and support him. Which brings about the first method of power to the succubi. To serve and gain power from a contract made. The very first succubi to ever serve him was Lilith. The woman bestowed to Adam as his second half. But, because she was originally created by god for a greater purpose, she retained her own individuality even after entering in a contract. It was only after the first HellSpawn war that i came into contact with her. It was then that she stated she wanted to sever her contract and asked my help to do so."
Koren lifted the necklace and tapped middle of it, his finger lightly tapping the wolf head with a gem across the bridge of its face. "When we finally broke her contract with Beel, She made this symbol for me..." His finger moved down and tapped a small rune under the wolf head. "And even gave me an enchanted rune of her very own to be adorned alongside it. Suffice it to say, this rune has helped me many times. But back to the question at hand." He let go of his necklace and continued his explanation.
"After the contract was severed, she took a very noticeable and dangerous hit to her power and life. So while under my care, she experimented with what she was given for power. What she discovered is what revolutionized succubi and incubi alike. She discovered over time that she was slowly siphoning the power of people around her, more prominently the male population. Now, with todays succubi, your more prone to physical touch as that is what the later generations after Lilith had to depend on. But why would Lilith take that step to cripple your species as such? Well, i asked her the same thing and her words were as such..."
Koren took on a bit more of a Motherly aspect, attempting to mimic Lilith as best he remembered. "Why, if i dont do something, gullible fuckers like you wont last very long!" He returned to his own posture and chuckled a bit. "She wasnt entirely wrong either. As we both found out she had been siphoning my power more than anyone else because i was always around her. Now... This part of the story i must ask you never repeat because to do so would change the entirety of our history that started because of that war. Before i continue, you must promise me that." His voice was subtle but there was a weight behind them that even a regular human could feel.
