“She is here and she is unwell but she is stable. You will remove her from my dwelling, shewolf.” The ice cold voice informed the tall burly woman standing before her. A mixture of scents hung in the air from the different potions the witch brewed, one of them sure to be a werewolf protection drought.
A low growl rumbled in the thick chest of the she wolf warrior. “I will do as I please witch and you will not force my hand, lest you wish to be missing yours.” The threat from anyone else would have done little to stir the demon witch but coming from the Alpha wolf of both the Canadian pack as well as the Scandinavian packs brought her up short. The woman’s nose twitched as she smelled the air. “You had a mortal here, that is an offence punishable by death should the Witches Council find out.” Electric blue eyes twinkled in sadistic delight at the information.
“Hold your tongue! I owed a Witch a favour and so aided both a mortal and a wolf. It would seem there has been a rise in wolf disease as of late. Perhaps your control is not what it once was, oh great vikingr.” A dark smile tugged at the demoness’ grey dead skin, at least that’s what it appeared to be an attempt of.
The small enchanted hut the witch lived in seemed to shrink around the wolf as rage threatened to overtake her body, feeling as though she could change at any moment if she did not retake control of her emotions. Slow deep breaths caused alpha’s ample bosom to rise and fall slowly. The rage slowly ebbed away, replaced by a steady calm that was expected of an alpha. “What have you done with the new wolf?”
“She is resting soundly in the other room. I fed her a sedative as she was quite agitated. She has never spent time in our worlds. She is or was, a human through and through.” The disdain dripped from the witch's words. “She will sleep for a time but be awoken most confused and on the verge of transformation.”
“I have helped many who have been bitten do not think to instruct me on how to handle my own people!” Anger rose in the wolf once more, muscles tightened and strained all over her body as she towered over the short witch, teeth spiked and barred.
A nasty electrical shock sprang from the witch coursing through the wolf making her yelp out in pain. “You will not hurtle insults at me inside my own home. You will take your pup and leave!” She snarled as spittle oozed from the grey lips, power emanated from her as she lifted both wolves and threw them from her hut slamming the wooden door closed behind them.
A monstrous roar echoed through the swamp as the alpha struggled to get to her feet. Though the newly turned werewolf was still on the smaller side once panic set in, even a millennia old alpha could become frightened by the sounds of the terrors in the beyond. Strong arms looped around the unconscious young woman as the alpha at last jumped to her feet moving quickly through the swamp to the exit from the witch’s realm.
Huffing and puffing the alpha lunged through the portal from one world to the next as the thundering sound of footsteps grew deafeningly loud behind her. As she fell to her knees in the snow beyond she dropped the new pup causing a small whine. “Sorry about that pup, it was unavoidable. Now let us get you to the safety of the den… I am truly sorry this happened to you, it is rarely fair.” With that the alpha picked the smaller woman up like a baby offering body heat for the short trip back to the wolf’s den hidden away in a complex cave system cut deep into the mountains.
Without delay the alpha made her way past all of the guards along the corridors from the front entrance to her quarters deep within, the carved stone walls giving the feeling of security and safety to all. She wrote a letter requesting the presence of another wolf from New York, ‘The presence of Eris is required within the Mountain Den’s immediately. Alpha Wovu.’ It would not take long for the parchment to appear in the young woman’s hands, it would take longer to travel to the mountain den in Sweden. The warrior female would remain on watch over the new pack member until the other wolf’s arrival but she knew it was not safe to keep her here, not now, not while a rogue roamed free. A dark thought crossed her mind furrowing her dark brows, heavily muscled and scarred arms crossed over her chest as she waited lost in her own thoughts in the torch lit room.

It was raining in New York. Dark clouds rolled ominously to block out the stars and release torrents of rain on the ungrateful inhabitants below. Lightning forked from the heavens to touch the skyscrapers' grounding rods as the buildings reached for the skies themselves. The streets lay empty of foot traffic, even the most hardened New Yorkers unwilling to battle the deluge of water that threatened to flood the streets.
Like most witches, Eris loved watching the beauty and raw power of storms. The thunder rolled through her body, causing her eyes to roll closed as she basked in the sensation. Sheer primal power flooded through her system, causing her amethyst eyes to glow slightly when they opened, even as gold swirled in their bright hue. The large bank of windows faced out over the city, the view being one of the reasons she was willing to pay the ridiculously high amount on her lease. She was able to watch as mother nature unleashed her fury on the poor mortals below.
Tearing her gaze from the storm, she headed back into her apartment. As much as candles were helpful for doing spellwork, she found she loved the soft haze of her dimmed lights more. Her skin, a warm hue reminiscent of coffee with a little cream, soaked in the soft light. She flopped back onto her couch, putting her feet up on the coffee table as she debated whether attempting magick with all of the energy crackling around her was worth it. She didn't want to light her hair on fire again, though it was much easier to avoid with it shorter. A sudden burst of energy had her looking up just in time for a scroll to fall out of thin air, hitting her in the face. "What the fuck?!" she exclaimed, snagging the scroll with one hand as she rubbed her nose with the other.
‘The presence of Eris is required within the Mountain Den’s immediately. Alpha Wovu.’
Eris read the words with widening eyes. Alpha Wovu was well known and feared, even amongst the American wolves. Her own Alpha respected Wovu immensely, her name even spoken in hushed tones. What the hell would one of the oldest werewolves in the world want with her? Regardless, it wasn't like she could refuse. Standing up, she snagged her smartphone and hit the speed dial. "Jeremy? It's Eris. No, no I didn't burn the building down. No..I .... dang it I didn't do anything!" she exclaimed in exasperation. The wave of reproving energy through the pack bonds had her sighing. She could feel it in the mental link as her own inner wolf whined a little. "I'm sorry Sir, but I didn't do anything. I just received a scroll from Alpha Wovu summoning me to the mountain's dens....isn't that in Sweden?" her pitch rose slightly as she realized the last part. "It sure is. I'm not sure what Alpha Wovu would want with you but far be it for me to stand in her way. You'd better head that way, go ahead and use the pack's plane so you don't fuck up some poor unsuspecting human's aircraft with your magick. David will meet you at the airport" Jeremy replied, his voice level. Before she could ask anything else, he hung up on her, apparently done with the conversation.
Eris looked down at the phone in her hand with her lip curling in a slight snarl. Gods forbid someone asks me if I actually want to go traipsing through the snow she thought, heading back to the bedroom to pack a light bag. On the way back, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. She was...an anomaly. As far as she knew, the only witch/wolf hybrid in existence, with all the unpredictability that came with it. Her wolf nudged her mentally, pushing her to hurry. Why are you in such a rush Nira? she asked her wolf. I don't want to keep David and Wovu waiting. Besides, aren't you a bit curious? came the reply, strong in her mind. Eris sighed, gathering the last of her materials and a few changes of clothes, including her heavy coat and boots. Quite frankly, I'm just hoping she hasn't decided to just up and kill me was her only reply.
Far, FAR too long of a plane trip later and a trudge through the snow where she let Nira run, she found herself at the Mountain's Den entrance. Shifting back to her human form she donned her warm clothing with ease, able to manage simple magick without it backfiring. Two wolves snarled at her as she approached, their teeth glinting in the light. "I have been summoned by Alpha Wovu. I am Eris, from the New York pack, and it is entirely too bright with the sunlight reflecting off all this snow. Could you let me in before I go blind?" she finished, sarcasm evident in her tone.
Nira did the equivalent of a facepalm. They were both mid to high pecking order in dominance in her pack, but this was new territory and new wolves where she had no place. 'You're going to get us killed. Forget what Wovu intended, we are going to die because you can't keep your mouth shut'

The hulking alpha werewolf paced the same trail over and over again inside her fire lit bedroom. Massive arms crossed over her thick chest as she went, occasionally peering down with her startling blue eyes, to see the new wolf still under the sleeping spell from the demon witch. “Hopefully, the Gods will be on our side and you will slumber until you are far from here, pup.” Wovu's soft voice barely carried above a whisper as she heard the quiet approach of one of her wolves. “Has the outsider finally arrived?”
“Yes alpha, she is at the front gate. Are we to let her in?” Came the smaller wolf’s reply as he kept his shaggy head bowed. Wovu looked down at the far shorter male, she knew that he was no prize but she hoped one day he would prove himself, this was an easy task to start with.
“Show her directly to my quarters, do not delay along the way. This must be a quick exchange.” The tone made it clear there was zero room for error in this job. With that she turned her toned back to the young wolf signifying he was to leave the warmth of her presence and quarters. 'That boy should not have been sent forth for this Wovu... the pack thinks it would be best to have left him out in the cold.' "I am well aware of this fact Gertrude. He must prove himself useful or I will do what must be done."
The lesser wolf tore through the long stretching halls of the underground den, shoving other wolves carelessly out of his way. Snarls followed the pounding of his feet as angry wolves thought to tear him to pieces for his ignorance. His shaggy black hair covered most of his eyes but somehow he was able to see clearly through the scruff turning when he was supposed to and even managed to get to the front gate ahead of schedule.
His small chest heaved in great gasps of air as he slowed to a stop, desperate to appear calm and at ease as he rounded the stone corner. The cold mountain air was already nipping at his human ears, he wished he could transform but he was not allowed to greet guests in such a fashion for fear of the punishment he would receive.
“At ease boys- oh wow…” The small wolf stammered as he came out of the den’s entrance. His olive brown cheeks burned dark red as his mouth floundered for words. The two wolf guards snickered at the adolescent wolf.
‘Come on kid...you’re an embarrassment for the pack!’ The large black wolf mentally and physically snapped at the lesser wolf.
‘Touch me and Alpha will hear about it!’ The boy mentally growled back, though a crooked smile was forced upon his thin cracking lips. “Alpha has asked me to bri- I mean, escort you to her room. This way, oh uh please, ummm… ummmm… I uhhh…d-d-d-on’t kn-kn-know y-y-y-our n-n-name.” The boy’s speech impediment made a surprise appearance.
The two guard wolves barked laughter at the expense of the young wolf, the laughter rumbled off the alcove giving the illusion of dozens of werewolves mocking the boy. Rage burned through his smaller frame as his fist clenched spasmodically as his wolf threatened to tear free of its bonds. Through the pack connection Wovu could feel the boy's terrible rage and shook her head from the warmth of her quarters.

Eris stood in the snow, hands tucked into her pockets as she waited for some sort of response from the guard wolves. Thankfully she didn't have to wait long as the smaller male suddenly appeared at the entrance to the den. Amethyst eyes swirled with gold as she watched the first guard wolf snap at the newcomer, her gaze sharp and calculating as she studied their interaction. Clearly, the young wolf wasn't a favorite amongst his pack.
A slight push of energy signaled that they were talking to each other on the pack bonds, something she gave no indication of feeling as her face carefully stayed neutral. It was something she'd learned over the years of dealing with outside wolves.
“Alpha has asked me to bri- I mean, escort you to her room. This way, oh uh please, ummm… ummmm… I uhhh…d-d-d-on’t kn-kn-know y-y-y-our n-n-name.”
Eris started to smile at the boy's nervousness, her expression breaking to something warm for a split second. Then the guards started laughing at him.
'Oh shit' Nira said, even though she snarled at their behavior.
The friendly smile fell off of Eris' face as she eyed up the two guard wolves. Being the 'freak' that she was, she'd had plenty of bullies and was going to be damned if she tolerated another. Gold swirled heavily into her eyes that started to glow with an amethyst light. A strong step forward and azure flames rolled down her legs, spreading out over the snow around her. A low growl rumbled from her throat, amplified by her magic until it echoed around them. Illusion magic was the one that never failed her. A few more steps and she stood in front of them, lifting her lip in a contemptuous snarl at each of the guard wolves as heat pulsed from the flames.
"Making fun of someone because of a speech impediment? Pathetic." she said, her voice low and cracking like a whip with distain. Just as suddenly the flames disappeared, along with the glow from her eyes. Gold still swirled heavily within the amethyst depths. Looking back to the young man she smiled softly again. "My name is Eris. Lead away."

The young man, more a boy in truth, felt his anger rising with the cackles from his pack mates but it was suddenly dulled when he caught the quickest glimpse of the stranger's smile. It almost seemed to stop his heart and freeze time around him but, then it was gone quicker then it had appeared. He felt a small smile tug at his cracked lips sending a tiny sting of pain from it but he did not care until he noticed the shifting amethyst eyes swirled with gold. ‘FIRE!’
The other two wolves hadn’t taken notice of the new comer and the swift changes taking place within her. It wasn’t until the sound of her voice and growl echoed all around them that the two large guards shrank in startled fear. ‘Fire?!’
“What the bloody hell are you? Wolves can’t do this!” The second guard bellowed as he saw the flames get closer. Fear filled the eyes of both guards as they struggled to step away from the fiery woman.
“P-p-p-p-pleasure to meet you…” The young man stuttered as he visibly shook from seeing such a display. It was something he had never seen before and never heard of either. All he had been taught was that werewolves could not summon magic in such a way, elders could be trained how to redirect certain types like fire or lightning but they could never start it themselves, they required a witch for such things. After taking a slow steadying breath he went on, “My name is Alvin. If you come this way I can take you through the tunnels, please stay close and keep up.” Alvin cast his eyes down once more, the soft brown hidden behind his shaggy black hair as he started off at almost a run through the confusing tunnels.
After several moments of non-stop hustling through the tunnels and grumpy pack members, who’s faces made clear they disliked this boy, the duo finally arrived outside of the Alpha’s chambers. “She’s inside, I’ll let her-”
A soft voice carried out to the two in the hall, Wovu had heard their approach and been waiting. “Eris, you may enter. Alvin, go practice your sparring, I shall deal with you later.” Wovu could sense the cringe from her pack member as he shrank back from her tone of dealing with him later. Wovu took a seat on an ornately carved, high backed chair pouring herself and her guest a glass of mead.

“What the bloody hell are you? Wolves can’t do this!”
The words brought a smirk to Eris' face, her head held regally as she looked down at the guard through her lashes. The smirk showed very obviously wolflike fangs as she found herself unable to resist using a line from one of her favorite movies. "I'm complicated." she replied, her head tilting downward slightly in emphasis at the second word.
Turning her attention from the frightened guards she nodded to Alvin, easily following behind him as they raced through the tunnels. Her eyes flicked over the wolves and their reaction to the small wolf as they moved quickly, taking note of everything. She still wasn't sure what Alpha Wovu might want with her and she quickly noted their path as they ran in case she needed to beat a hasty exit. They suddenly were at the entrance to Wovu's quarters and for a moment Eris raised her eyebrow at all the torches. Didn't they have electricity?
“Eris, you may enter. Alvin, go practice your sparring, I shall deal with you later.”
The reprove was clear in her tone and even Eris flinched a little in sympathy as the smaller wolf slunk off. She wondered why the boy was in trouble. All thoughts of Alvin quickly fled her mind as she got her first glance of Wovu and her mouth instantly ran dry. Power and strength radiated from the Alpha as she looked like she was born to sit upon her throne. She hadn't expected to find the Alpha devastatingly attractive. Eris flushed as her brain quickly decided to make itself scarce and Nira went silent. "Ohhh momma... " she breathed without thinking.
Instantly Nira realized that Eris had, in fact, said that out loud and "shouted" across their bond. "WHAT?!"
Eris' eyes widened in horror and her hand slapped over her mouth. Not even giving the other woman a chance to respond she turned away towards the door once more. "Nope, sorry. Can't help, gotta go throw myself off a cliff now" she commented, facepalming.

Wovu’s mind had been preoccupied with watching over the new wolf but it had not gone unnoticed that the small wolf had almost lost control. She knew her tone had been registered by the entire pack and even sensed the small flinch from the outsider. A soft sigh escaped her as she waited for the young woman to step inside of her cavern chambers.
The room had clearly been dug out ages ago with brute force. Stalactites hung from the fifteen foot ceilings yet they weren’t menacing as one might expect. Rather, the room was warm and inviting. A fire crackled in a recess in the back wall where two chairs and tables were set up and under them lay a bear skin rug, one that the leader had hunted and made herself. Off to the left was another carved out room covered in shadows, usually lit by torches but tonight it was kept dark to help the new wolf stay asleep and more peaceful in the large bed. At last the lesser wolf and the outsider had arrived and Wovu ordered Eris in.
The Alpha’s piercing blue eyes latched onto the outsider wolf immediately, in an instant she had taken in the hybrid. The two had never met before but Wovu had indeed heard tales about this young woman. To see her in the flesh was no disappointment, her eyes alone were far more captivating then one would expect.
“Ohhh momma…”
A smirk tugged at Wovu’s surprisingly soft lips as the comment was heard. Her eyes darkened a shade as she gave a fiery look to the younger wolf. “You even try to take a step outside of my chambers and the guards will forcibly return you. If anyone is going to tie you up, I would much prefer it to be me.” A soft husky chuckle rumbled in the old Vikingr warrior as a gentle hand indicated the seat next to her. “There is water in the container as well as a goblet for you to drink from. Fresh strawberries, blueberries and roasted duck are under the cover. Please take a seat and have your fill.”

. “You even try to take a step outside of my chambers and the guards will forcibly return you. If anyone is going to tie you up, I would much prefer it to be me.”
Eris audibly choked at the completely unexpected response, turning to face Wovu with a bright red face, wide eyes and biting her lower lip in an attempt to keep her jaw from dropping in surprise. It took her a moment to realize that one of the most powerful wolves in the world was teasing her! Looking down for a moment, Eris regained her composure as she looked up with a smile and a soft chuckle.
"That was entirely unfair" she commented, nodding to acknowledge Wovu's offer of food as she made her way to the table. As she crossed the room she admired the rough beauty of it, the stalactites holding her attention for a moment. Keeping the Alpha in her gaze out of her peripherals Eris sat gracefully, crossing her legs out of habit as she made herself a plate. "Thank you for the food, will you be joining me? It's a bit awkward to eat alone" she commented, a slight smirk on her face as the sass that had placed her higher in her pack made its appearance.

“That was entirely unfair.” Wovu’s smirk grew in cockiness as she saw the woman blushing fiercely.
“It caught your attention though and it is good fun for me. Also, a change of pace compared to the usual responsibilities I have around here. To make a beautiful young woman blush makes me happy.” She chuckled as she watched Eris carefully.
“Thank you for the food, will you be joining me? It’s a bit awkward to eat alone.”
“Yes I shall be.” Long and surprisingly delicate fingers picked up blueberries and several pieces of meat before she sat back in her chair thinking on how to go on until finally she broke the silence. “I do not know if your alpha confides in you or keeps your pack up to date of the goings on throughout the global pack but, there are a great many things happening that I must attend to. Demons are breaching the veil more regularly, witches are making contracts with them and mortals, the veil itself is threatening to tatter and have all the worlds come crashing together. I am old and have travelled between several realms and I know that the humans are not ready for such things. There would be constant conflict if they found out that what goes bump in the night truly existed…” The flames danced in Wovu’s blue eyes as her mind wandered to distant memories.
With a shake of her head causing her long braided black hair to tussle about her shoulders she returned to the present. “Chaos would ensue. It is something I fight to keep locked up as do many other wolves. That being said, there are some who do not wish to follow the laws laid out before them. There has been an uptick in wolf bites as of late. Most do not make it through the first transition whether it be from overwhelming pain bursting their hearts or their own friends and family putting them down, they have not survived long after the initial bite. This has not slowed the rogues however. I have an agreement with the witch covens in my areas to notify me of any wolves that crop up. Tonight I got a most unexpected letter from a voodoo witch demon, Helena. She is one all wolves try to avoid, she rarely if ever leaves her cursed realm. However, she found a freshly made wolf and held her under sedation for me.”
It was then, for the first time since Eris had arrived that Wovu actually looked towards the darkened corner of the cavern. Though at first it was hard to make out, there was a limp bump under the furs, a small rising and falling showed the person was still alive but sleeping on the alpha’s bed. “I know nothing about her other than she was bitten this past night. In normal circumstances I would keep her here and guide her in the Lycan ways… that is not an option. My pack cannot grow any further right now. Not safely that is. I require your aid in taking her on. She will be yours to train and help. She was a human before this, nothing supernatural to her prior to tonight. I ask that you please, take her with you when you return home, to keep her safe as well as the humans around her of course.” Wovu leaned forward to place a massive hand on top of Eris’ forcing her to feel the tired energy of the old wolf.

Wovu's comment about making her blush made Eris wrinkle her nose at the older wolf a little, refusing to blush more though she could still feel Nira gazing at Wovu adoringly. Eating slowly she listened to the explanation of the difficulties the other wolf faced in trying to keep the nasties of the supernatural world at bay. Of course, other Alphas had to be helping but it sounded like much of the burden lay on Wovu's shoulders. Eris had of course felt the veil thinning, her magic surged at it, its chaotic nature striving to break free. Many witches gave into the draw of the immense power that forming a contract with a demon could give them, not realizing how much danger they put every other living thing in, or perhaps not caring. The oldest witch families made blood contracts throughout the generations and used this power to elevate their status above other "common" witches.
Her gaze followed the Alpha's own, finally noticing the form that looked so small in the massive bed. The energy around her was tightly bound with the sedation, but she would awaken hungry, scared, and possibly angry. Eris' heart ached for the young woman even as it sank as she realized what Wovu was about to ask of her.
"I require your aid in taking her on. She will be yours to train and help. She was a human before this, nothing supernatural to her prior to tonight. I ask that you please, take her with you when you return home, to keep her safe as well as the humans around her of course.”
Eris' gaze snapped up to Wovu's upon feeling the large hand over her own. Wolves naturally ran hot and that heat radiated from her almost as strongly as the tired energy. Despite everything that had been ingrained in her Eris held Wovu's gaze, her own incredibly sad. What a burden this ancient wolf had to bear, and she couldn't even help her. Eris' shoulders sagged as she let out a soft sigh. "I.... Alpha Wovu, I am not the one you want for this task. Someone had to have lied to you about my capabilities. I am a screw-up. If you ask Jeremy I'm sure he'll be happy to tell you the stories. But my magic, it's not always stable, and I... I am a half-breed" she said sadly, the last words said with a bit of pain. Empathetic as she was, her heart ached fiercely at the exhaustion she felt coming from the other woman, regret tingeing her words.

Though she was the alpha and had been, practically since she had been turned against her will, Wovu felt exhausted. She knew it was her responsibility to take in new wolves and help train them for their new lives but in times like these that was immensely difficult. Her crystal blue eyes held Eris’ amethyst ones, pleading the younger wolf not to force her hand. The last thing she wished to do was mandate that one wolf be responsible for another but she truly did not have the time or energy to do it. Not with so much running wild around her territories, it was unsafe for the well trained and beyond dangerous for those freshly turned.
"I.... Alpha Wovu, I am not the one you want for this task. Someone had to have lied to you about my capabilities. I am a screw-up. If you ask Jeremy I'm sure he'll be happy to tell you the stories. But my magic, it's not always stable, and I... I am a half-breed.”
Wovu’s hand gently squeezed Eris’. “He has spoken highly of you as have others who have met you. No one is perfect, young one. Gods know I am not.” Her other hand gently cupped Eris’ soft cheek to keep her from looking away. “I already know about your magic and your inability to control it for the bigger spells. Were you not the one who showed off such magic on my doorstep when you arrived here a short time ago?” The smirk came back to play on her lips. Wovu was an old enough wolf to have been trained in the most basic of abilities such as sending a parchment letter from point A to point B but she was also one of the few wolves who could see through the eyes of her pack. It was an ancient power that few held anymore and one that was usually whispered about even among her own group.
A sound of movement came from the darkened part of the room followed by sudden panting. The still human form began to move about clearly caught in a bad dream. “N-no… friend… wh-what are you?!” A scared voice cared from the bed.
“She will be waking before we know it. Thankfully, I have a bit more of the sedative which you will administer to keep her calm for the journey back to your home. You are her only hope…” Wovu’s shoulders slumped forward. “If she is not taken from here, then I will be forced to cull her.” A new fire burned in her eyes.

Eris sighed deeply, looking down at the table. At the mention of Jeremy speaking highly of her she snorted with a bit of an eyeroll. Considering how he spoke to her consistently it was interesting that he lied to Wovu. "The magic you saw was reactionary, it wasn't something I was actively trying to do. And it was all an illusion" she explained. It was obvious she was wearing down in her resistance. Something in her wanted to do whatever she could to ease the strain on the older wolf. The movement for the other room startled her, making her heart ache for the obviously traumatized new wolf. She wasn't so old as to forget what it was like when she was changed, the terror and pain of it. Nira shifted in her mind, causing her eyes to swirl heavily with gold. We need to help her. We can't let a little wolf get culled because they don't have room Nira whispered in her mind with a little whine. Eris took in a slow, deep breath and released it just as slowly, starting to show for the first time the real steel that ran through her. she growled softly in frustration but picked up her head to meet Wovu's gaze. Hers held resignation but bits of determination. She allowed her thumb to slid over the soft skin of the other wolf's hand, knowing this would possibly be the last time she'd see her. Immortals or not, it was both a large and small world and she knew Jeremy had thought about putting her down more than once when her magic backfired in some spectacular way. She nodded, not looking happy about the situation at all. "I'll take care of her. I have some property outside the actual city of New York that will be better for her to wake up in rather than being surrounded by humans."

Relief flooded the alpha’s entire body, she could even feel it deep in her soul. A small smile turned the corner of her lip from a frown for the first time in many weeks. A sense of calm accompanied the feeling of relief when she saw the eyes of the young wolf, blue eyes sparked with a little flame of life and determination. At last she found her words as she held Eris’ gaze, her voice soft and caring yet the tone of an alpha never left it. “I cannot thank you enough, I do not relish the need of putting one of our own down just because a rogue went out and bit her. I sense she is a strong one but she will need help. From what I can smell, she had been in a bar and gone out into an alley for some unknown reason or at least she has been at a bar recently. Here is the sedative, I will give it to you to carry for now. I shall accompany you both through the mountains to the airport at which point the pup will be handed off to you.” Wovu straightened as she went silent for a moment, the sounds of cracklings and snapping firewood filling the air before she finally added. “I shall carry her for you, she is not very big in comparison to myself. When you are ready to go we shall leave.”
The muscular female got to her feet, joints cracking as she moved showing how worn down she truly was. Her footsteps didn’t even make a sound, it was as if she were walking on air. Making her way to her wardrobe she flung open the intricately carved oak doors to start rummaging through an assortment of different clothes ranging from modern day attire to 1800’s England all the way back to when she was but a young vikingr. A pale tattooed hand slowly caressed a well worn animal fur. Taking it from the hangar and returning to Eris she extended her hand with the garment. “I hunted several foxes and hares then stitched them together myself when I was only eleven years old. So many lifetimes ago now.” She chuckled as memories flashed back of the many hunts it took to skin enough animals for the garment, she had not been great at it immediately. “I gift this to you to keep warm on the journey from this mountain, I know it is very cold out there, especially to outsiders.” The patchwork cloak of grays, reds, and white furs hung before Eris to take.
