Jason was all to close to blacking out before the hitting stopped. He couldnt make out anything as he was still blind and couldnt hear anything. All too soon as the beatings had started, they had ended, but he just stayed curled untill he felt something put in his hand. He gripped it quickly and flinched, feeling that his glasses were what was put in his hand. He opened them shakily and put them on, his vision clearing quickly.
He saw just jess down by him and was about to move before she started looking over his body. He winced and groaned lightly. He glanced back up at her, seeing her lips move, but the ringing in his ears was to loud for him to make out anything. Soon enough, he finally blacked out.

She felt him slipping out of conciousness. Without thinking twice, she opened her cell phone and dialed 911. Her own heart was pounding as she leaned down to make sure his was beating all right. The sound of sirens reached them quickly, as students stuck their heads out the classrooms to see what was going on. Many of their faces held sneers as Jason was put onto a stretcher and wheeled into the ambulence outside the doors.
Jess watched them start to wheel him out, then jogged back into the fitting room. Emerging literally a minute later, shel ooked completely different. Baggy camo pants ewre evened out by a fitted black t-shirt. Her hair was out of the ponytail, tumbling around her face.
As she walked into the hallway, dufflebag in hand, the sea of strudents parted. The sneers were gone, upon seeing the muscles in her arms to tight, and the expression on her face. As she stalked to the office, the hallway fell silent. Jess looked ready to kill.
Striding through the office, she saw the two who'd attacked Jason talking jovially with the secretary. A flex of the muscles in her arm, and the dufflebag hit the wall hard. The boys and secretary all jumped, the boys spinning to face her. "Sit" she snapped, pointing to a couple chairs. Seeing the look of absolute rage smoldering just beneath the surface of her beautiful face, they quickly did so.
Continuing her path, she twisted the handle of the door to the principal's door and flung it open. He was sitting behind the desk, visibly startled by her enterance. "Jess..wha" he started to stammer, before she cut him off, her voice almost shaking with anger. "You'd better tell me those two are being punished." The principal's eyes widened, never having heard that tone to her voice before. Quickly enough though, he regained his composure. "The boys were defending themselves. Jason started it, and is going to be expelled." Jess' hands slammed down on the desk, making papers fly everywhere. The principal jumped, his startled gaze meeting her own burning one. As she spoke though, her voice was icier than the artic tundra. "That's bullshit and you know it. Jason was beaten unconcious while they have no bruises on them. I don't care what fucking problems you have wiht him or his family. If you do not punish them to the extent they deserve, I will call the cops and press charges, and I will go to the press about the negligent principal who didn't do a damned thing about it, and encouraged this kind of behavior." The man's face paled to sheet white. "Y-you wouldn't, they wouldn't..." "You want to bet? I have more pull in this city than pretty much anyone else my age" she snapped. As she spoke again, her voice was hard, her words precise. "Do. I. Make. Myself clear?" The principal, shocked and seeing no way out of it nodded, and she straightened again. Without another word, she turned on her heel and left the room. Seeing the two guys still pale and sitting where she'd told them to, she paused upon slinging her dufflebag onto her shoulder. "Anybody harms him, I will have them arrested" was all she said, before leaving the office.
It was a short trip in her Civic to the hospital. She quickly found a parking spot and made her way to the ER. A nurse gave her the room number, and she quickly walked to the room. Stopping just inside the door, tears welled up in her eyes. The bruises ruined the peaceful image of him lying there. Quietly, she sat in the chair next to the bed. Her feet tucked up, and she rested her arms on top of her knees, and her head on her arms. Her eyes still held tears as she watched his still form.

Jason just seemed to be floating around. He couldnt see anything but pitch black, and couldnt hear anything coherent. Everything melded into one noise, one loud, echoing noise. Was he still being beaten? He couldnt tell anymore the difference in pain or calm. Anger or kindness. But what he did know was what got to him the most. He was scared. Scared to death that this time might be the final time.
Suddenly, his body tensed and bolted up. He didnt know why, or what caused it. But it scared him even more. He could feel the electricity surge thru his body as another wave coursed thru his body. And as if it was planned, his eyes bolted open and he took in a deep inhale of breath. "His heart rates back up!" Jason felt the urge to flinch when his right eye went blind with a light, but his body didnt respond to his whims.
"Stay with us, bud. C'mon. Dont close those eyes." Some one was talking to him, but he couldnt tell who, his left eye was still dialated and blinded, and his right was soon to follow. His body felt numb again and soon, his eyes were closing once more. The person who had been talking to him started speaking again, but he couldnt understand a word they said. It was just a jumble of noise again.
Because of the light that was flashed in his eyes, the pitch dark area he seemed to float in was now bright and white. ~Where am i now?~ He thought to himself a little before hearing head drumming noises again. Whimpering softly, he attempted to cover his ears, tho it was a failed attempt. The noises began to grow louder and louder till he heard voices once more. "It seems a couple of his ribs are broken. There may even be more cracked. Take him in for x-rays and then to the ER, we need to find out if....."
As soon as they came again, they disappeared. He was back in his own little world. And it seemed like an eternity he was there. He felt pricks, snaps, and other pains, making him scared again because of what was happening to him without him knowing anything. He whimpered, cried and longed for everything to stop hurting him. And soon, his longing was brought to the surface. Everything had stopped.
The pain numbed and slowly disappeared, leaving him there to simply breath and try to control his body again. ~wake up.... Get up.... Move.... Do something....~ He whimpered to himself. He continued to think about himself for a bit before vaugley remembering jess stoping everything at school. He began to worry about her and whimpered softly. "Jess.... Im sorry...." Even tho he thought all that was said was between himself, his body involuntarily let those words slip from his lips.

The words were a whimper, and had her out of the chair in a split second, half sitting on his bed. She smoothed the hair back from his face, her palm resting against his cheek. Her heart twisted to see him lying there, so broken. The nurse had said they'd had to revive him in the ambulence. "Don't be sorry babe, don't ever be sorry" she whispered, a tear running down each of her cheeks.

Jason contiued to whimper softly untill he felt something touching him. But it didnt hurt, nor did i scare him. Because of his soft, and gently it was, he wanted more. Wanted to get away from the pain that still lingered, and the darkness he was still part of. He struggled within himself to move, trying to force himself even if his body said no. His fingers twitched a bit and his head twisted a little into the touch. He wanted nothing more then that at that moment. Just to feel that gentleness.

Seeing his fingers twitch, her heart leapt. A spark of hope grew as he leaned his face into her touch. Gently, she stroked over the skin, tears running from her eyes. Tears choking her voice a little, she sang softly, soothingly.

Jason heard more noises, still incoherent to him, but knew they werent threataning. He fought more within himself to move, feeling his arm twich a little. His eyes slid open a little and looked around the blurred room. The voice started to clear a little and he could tell who it was from listening only for that moment. "Jess?" His throat let out a light whisper, not capable of anything more.

His whisper was just loud enough for her to hear. More tears flowed down her cheeks as she stroked his cheek more, leaning down closer to lock her eyes with what little of his was open. "Jason, Jason wake up boy. I'm here, please, just wake up" she whispered tearfully.

Jason found himself staring up into her eyes, seeing the tears they made. Jason forced a small smile and whispered some more. "I must... have died and... went to heaven.... Your crying for me...." He forced a soft chuckle, but ended up whipping his head to the side, coughing horsely and tensing greatly because of the pain that racked thru his body.

Jess' heart leapt in joy, then pounded in fear as she saw him coughing. Leaning down close to him, her eyes were almost panicked. "No nonono, boy, don't do that. Just lay there, relax. We'll have you up and fit in no time. Everything'll be ok. I've straightened the principal and most of the students out, you've just gotta get better" she said ernestly, running her hand through his hair.
True, he'd only come back into town. She should've been able to forget him in the years that had gone by. But when he'd come back, she'd seen the friend from so many years ago that had shown her how cruel the world could be. Since then, she'd become rutheless about what she wanted, being nice to everyone, because nobody deserved to be treated the way they had. Because of him, she'd fought, she'd gained a future. She hadn't been lying when she'd told the principal she had a lot of pull. Over the years, she'd been on numerous committees, met some very powerful people.
"C'mon boy, just get better. You've gotta teach me how to do those moves you did earlier today" she said with a weak smile.

Jason kept coughing hoarsly for a moment before feeling them subside for the moment. He let out a heavy and sore sigh, his chest feeling like it wwas about to break and explode. But when he heard her speaking, he ignored the pain to chuckle again, even if it ment going into another coughing fit. "But... im no good at teaching..."

She had to smile a little at his words, despite how worried she was. Her hand stroked over his hair again as she shifted to sit on the bed next to him. Her heart twisted seeing him in so much pain. "The principal was going to try to pin it on you, and expel you. I told him if he tried it, I'd have the students arrested and him fired after I went to the press. So, you don't need to worry about the people at school" she tried to reassure him, her voice gentle. A moment of silence passed as she worked up the courage to ask the question that had been nagging her. "What does he have against your family?"

Jason coughed a little more, wincing at the wracking pain corsing thru his chest. All the coughing made it harder for him to breath, but he managed as he sighed, turning his head slightly into her hand. "Nothing will change... I will still... be the same to the students... and the principle.. wont stop. He will find other ways..." He coughed a little more, as they settled into minimal pains.
He sighed heavily and shakily as he felt the pain subside a bit. "The principle was an old college friend of my fathers. They were both working for the same firm and both aiming for the top. Well, you can guess who made it. Since then, ive never seen him. The only reason im here is because the old shit wanted to rub it in the principles face that the son of his successful ex friend was attending his school on strings that the principle couldnt possibly say no to."
Sighing again, the pains subsided even more and he winced a little as he forced himself to sit up, rubbing his head before patting around for his glasses.

As he went to sit up, she placed a restraining hand on his shoulder. "No hun, you have broken ribs, stay down" Calmly, she handed him his glasses out of her purse. They'd been on the hallway floor when the paramedics took him out. Watching him put them on, she sat at the edge of his bed, looking down at him with a hint of confusion on her face. "What do you mean on strings he couldn't resist?"

Jason put his glasses on when he was handed them and sighed, looking at her. "One would be the school funding. That new building it got? Because of the firms Three fourths property ownership of the school. Mom had seen the want for a new building, so she forced dad to buy one for the school. Second, half the school faculty are employed thru the firm. The janitors and all food faculty. One those two things alone, how could a principle say no?"
He sighed and rubed his head more, slightly wincing at the pounding throb of his head. It was close to unbearable, but he managed all the same. "The firm dabbles its grubby fingers in a lot of things because dad likes being "Diverse."" Jason put extreme emphysis on the word and shared a hint of disgust for it as well.
