Jordan frowned at Sal's first offer. When he glanced up and his eyes widened, she raised one eyebrow herself, but didn't turn around. The other woman (did she know her name yet?) could handle herself against this guy, definitely. Finally, Sal made a second offer. Jordan grinned widely. "I'll take the cash, if you don't mind," she said sweetly.
After she had the cash in hand AND had thoroughly examined it, Jordan turned and joined the woman at the door. "Thanks," she said quietly as they went back out on the street. The cash went in her front pocket, minus a few bills she palmed, which went in the pocket of her sweater.
Outside, Jordan took a deep breath before turning to look at her companion. "I'm Laelia. Call me Lae for short if you want. And your name?"

Sidian nodded at the girl's choice to take the cash. Tonight was not going at all like she'd expected. Then again, one never knew exactly what to expect in this city. Easily, she shrugged her backpack back on her shoulder, the gun going at the base of her spine as she smoothly slipped the safety into place. She didn't like it when Sal tried cheating people, and he certainly knew it wasn't a good idea to do it with her, so he didn't even bother anymore. She waited until the girl had passed her out the door, and followed her, not in the habit of letting unknown people at her back. The girl telling her her name made her half smile and nod. "I'm Sidian. I guess you can call me Sid" she said quietly. She looked around then, thinking on what she was going to do for the rest of the night.

Laelia nodded in acknowledgment of the name, putting her hands into the jacket pockets. She sighed, thinking of how a simple run had turned into a hit, then a meeting, then this. What else could happen? Thinking of that, she realized something. "Excuse me a sec," she said, then stepped away a few.
She pulled out her phone. "Yo cop. Make sure that cash goes into the second accountant. I've got bills to pay this month, and you certainly didn't help last time. And make sure that your partner keeps his hands far from my ass." She hung up without waiting for a reply, and walked back to Sid. "So, what'cha doing for the rest of the night?"

Sid nodded as the girl excused herself, opening up her own phone and texting to her little brother, Jake. You'd better be staying out of trouble she typed out, sending it before she shut her phone and slipping it in her pocket. The girl's question had her pushing her hair out of her face again with a sigh. "Actually, I have no idea. It seems like tonight's not a good night for me to be out and about" she muttered, vaguely annoyed at all the disruptions tonight. Easily, she pulled another cigarette to her lips, this one vanilla flavored. A flame flashed to life as her zippo opened and slid against the leg of her pants. A moment later, her cigarette was lit, and after the first drag, her nerves were soothed. "What about you?" she asked Lae.

Lae smiled at Sid's comment. You're telling me, she thought idly as she shrugged. "I'm not sure myself anymore. Way too much random crap popping up to make plans." She looked around where they were and gave a wry smile. "If I were in better clothes I'd say go clubbing, but I think this stain might raise eyebrows." She held up one sleeve, which had a large blood stain from her killing. "That is, unless I can get people to think it's ketchup.... oh well."

Sidian nodded in agreement with the girl's statement. "Well, if you want, there's a nice little thrift shop not too far from here. It's great for finding some off the wall stuff" she suggested. "If not, I'm probably going to check on Jake, I think he's out at a club somewhere" she said with an idle shrug of her shoulders. Her shirt was slightly ripped after everything that night, and she wanted to get some new clothes herself, so it wasn't a bad thought to head to the thrift store. Rain started to fall lightly, a warm mist that felt wonderful on her exposed skin. Sidian shifted her backpack on her shoulder a little, waiting for the girl's response.
